My name is Linda Nwahiri, I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My goal is not only to help reduce symptoms but also to help you build resilience, regain confidence, and improve your overall quality of life. Whether you're seeking care for the first time or returning after previous treatment, you'll be welcomed with compassion, respect, and without judgment.
I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey toward better mental health and well-being.
I believe in a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. When working with patients, I start by listening carefully to their concerns and goals. Together, we will create a treatment plan that may include therapy, medication, or lifestyle strategies tailored to individual needs. My training includes a general psychiatry residency in New Jersey and an advanced Addiction Psychiatry/NIDA‐T32 Research Fellowship at Columbia University in New York City, where I received specialized experience in the treatment of substance use disorders, comorbidity, and academic research.
Many of my clients are students, young adults, and working professionals navigating the demands of school, careers, relationships, and life transitions. They’re often trying to balance everything while wondering why life feels harder than it should.

As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I partner with children, teens, and families to provide comprehensive, compassionate mental health care. My practice specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of ADHD, anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), depression, and OCD. I believe in looking at the whole child, blending evidence-based medical management with therapeutic support to help your child thrive at home, in school, and in life.
What uniquely informs my psychiatric practice is my foundational background in pediatric neurology. This specialized experience allows me to deeply understand the complex intersection between brain development, neurological functioning, and behavioral health. When treating conditions like ADHD or OCD, I look beyond surface-level symptoms to understand the underlying neurological drivers, allowing me to create highly precise, targeted treatment plans that standard approaches might miss.
I am a psychiatrist with years of further training and experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I treat a wide array of issues, ranging from anxiety, depression, grief, problems in intimate relationships, and chronic dissatisfaction to a general sense of malaise. I also work with patients who are experiencing confusion about their feelings and an inability to make important decisions, and who thereby feel stuck and unable to move forward. In addition, I help patients going through a crisis or a life transition that may lead to an increased burden of demands requiring change.
I work with patients to help them recount and revisit their life's story and create a new narrative that works better for them. In that spirit, I don't give overt advice, instructions, or quick solutions, but instead encourage them to arrive at their own solutions after carefully exploring the roots of their current problems.
I have a judicious approach to prescribing medications when warranted to support the work of therapy.
