I have been a therapist since 2002. I believe in a laid back, and open "fire side" chat format to counseling. I started my career in a Christian Counseling setting with adolescents and families which progressed over to couples and eventually crossing to the LGBTQ and alternative lifestyles such as kink aware. I hold a Masters in Counseling Education from the UCF. I have learned over the years not to take myself too seriously and one should always be open and ready to adjust to change and growth.
My name is Dr. Josh Waddell, DNP, PMHNP-BC, and I am an integrative psychiatric provider dedicated to healing through identifying root causes of illness. I believe true healing occurs when we understand and address the imbalances within a person’s life. My approach is holistic and individualized, incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and complementary and alternative interventions.
I have over 15 years of experience in mental health, having worked as a case manager, therapist, and psychiatric nurse practitioner. My work has spanned a wide range of settings, from sitting at the bedside in hospital rooms, to outpatient clinics in rural areas of Tennessee and Florida.
I am a double graduate of Vanderbilt University, earning both my MSN and DNP with a focus in psychiatric mental health. I also hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tennessee Technological University.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as teaching faculty at Yale University in the PMHNP program and am the host of the podcast Mental Maps, where I explore the intersection of mental health, meaning, and integrative care.

1500 North University Drive, Coral Springs, FLI’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who helps clients heal from trauma, reclaim self-trust, and create relationships rooted in consent, curiosity, and compassion. My work is grounded in EMDR, trauma-informed care, and systemic therapy. I also specialize in working with queer, trans, and polyamorous communities, helping clients explore identity, navigate complex relationships, and find safety in authenticity.
I approach therapy as a collaborative and affirming process—one where we slow down, notice what’s happening in your body, and make sense of your story without shame. My clinical background includes extensive training in dissociation, attachment, and complex trauma, as well as experience supporting survivors of narcissistic and relational abuse.
My goal is to offer a grounded, compassionate space for clients to rediscover their capacity for healing and wholeness.
I help teens and women create lives that feel good to live—not just ones that look good on the outside. Together, we’ll explore how your past experiences may still be showing up in your day-to-day life, and help you reconnect with your strength, your voice, and your ability to create real change.
